This week I had the great honor and pleasure of speaking at two extraordinary schools in Tampa – The Academy of Holy Names and Tampa Preparatory School.
In both schools, I had the opportunity of speaking to parents about one of the topics I enjoy most: “Mothers & Daughters – Connecting Here and Now…”
Just scroll down to check out the article Tampa Prep wrote about my visit to their school….

Matters of the Heart
On Tuesday, March 24, the Tampa Prep Parent Education Committee, along with the Tampa Bay Ophelia Project/Boys Initiative, sponsored a parent program with Corin Wiser, author of a popular teen self-help book titled, Matters of the Heart: A guide to living and loving your teen years. Corin, a mother of three daughters, offered practical advice about how to help teens transition from adolescence into adulthood with self-confidence and self- respect. Her thoughts were inspired by her own childhood experiences and the feelings of confusion and uncertainty that often accompany the teen years. Her presentation was lighthearted and her sentiments rang true for the parents who attended. Though her book addresses the relationships between mothers and their daughters, her practical advice easily applies to any parent/child relationship. Perhaps the most important piece of advice suggested that parents spend quality time with their children, and be a positive influence – guiding their teens’ development, while at the same time, providing opportunities for growth and open communication.
What a great week! Once again, I was reminded of what I love most (besides spending time with my family!) – to speak to parents and daughters and together come up with new ways of strengthening our connection….
And as always, remember to…
Open your heart to what really matters….
